A flowsheet is then developed to find possible configurations on which to base a basic economic evaluation.
The economic evaluation is done with enough confidence to assist investors in making the decision to go ahead with a project or not.
The study includes Capital- and Operating- cost considerations.
|Process evaluation||A complete evaluation of your current process. This includes interpretation of current production data, a process flow evaluation, mass balance considerations, feed mineral distribution, mineralogy, and more.
This process highlights the areas of your process that are performing above expected levels, and also where there are areas that could be improved upon.
This evaluation forms the basis for Process Optimization services.
|Process optimization||Based on the outcome of the Process evaluation, EPS and your production team formulate a test series strategy that fits in with your production schedule.
This ensures that the industrial scale trials do not interfere with your production targets and that we still meet your continuous improvement goals.
This service includes both laboratory identification and optimization test work and plant trials.
EPS will have staff on-site to assist/ perform/ manage the optimization process.
|Laboratory standard development||It is important to have a continuous improvement strategy for any production facility.
In order to generate data that accurately simulate plant conditions, it is extremely important to have a laboratory test standard that closely models plant performance.
These standards need to evolve and grow as your flotation plant expands and develops over time.
EPS will help your laboratory team optimize your laboratory standard procedure to closely model what is happening in your production plant.
We will further empower them with the tools to maintain this standard as the plant continuously improves and develops.
|Reagent suit studies||Base metal oxide flotation reagent suits are complex. And the success of the reagent suit relies on understanding the flotation tendencies of each the minerals you are targeting, how that relates to the behaviour of the unwanted minerals under those conditions and how each reagent within your suit affects these characteristics.
The EPS team specialise in evaluating the mineral-reagent interaction and assists your team in developing a reagent strategy that follows your feed requirements.
|Mineral interaction evaluation||Every mineral within an ore body affects how it will float.
Understanding the mineral-mineral interaction allows EPS to develop an operating strategy with your production team that empowers them to handle the standard feed fluctuations and use the tools at their disposal to reach and maintain your set production targets.
|Poly-metallic flotation optimization||Differential flotation of poly-metallic oxide ores is an extremely complex system.
You must balance each mineral to the optimum conditions – reagent, dosage range, pH, unwanted mineral – before you move on to the next one.
Conditions overlap – mineral float at similar pH, unwanted minerals float where targeted species are depressed.
It is a complex process to maintain and constantly optimise.
EPS’ understanding of mineral interaction and reagent evaluation and optimization experience enable us to work with your team to finds ways to maintain stability and identify areas to target as part of your continuous improvement programs.
|Flowsheet development||Base metal oxides require a complex flotation flowsheet. This flowsheet is significantly more complex than any standard base metal sulphides circuit. The problem with this is that oxides generally proceed sulphides within any ore body.
On most mines the oxides are available for treatment long before the sulphides are mined. The sensible approach is to develop a flowsheet that can initially handle the oxides, and later transition to a sulphide circuit as the ore body develops, with minimal disruption, efficiency or capital cost requirements.
EPS understands the flowsheet requirements for treating both oxides and sulphides and can assist you in creating flowsheets that extend your life-of-mine by utilizing as much of your resource as is available.
|Debottlenecking||With ever-growing demands on production facilities and fluctuating commodity prices, it is vital that you utilise your flotation plant to the maximum.
Flotation is a complex process and bottlenecks can easily creep in unnoticed, while production teams attend to more pressing production related issues.
